Pat was referred to us through a Delmar Gardens therapist. Due to the medical condition of Pat’s legs, she must use a walker to get around. Her home has one step out of the door, and four more off the front porch. Pat has fallen a few times, even with someone assisting her. Her therapist will be helping her learn to navigate the ramp with both a walker and wheelchair. Without the ramp, Pat would eventually have been homebound.
We were contacted by Ranken Jordan to build a ramp for a young man who had been in a serious car accident on May 29, 2018. The accident was a result of someone being distracted by a cell phone. Preston has not been home since the accident, but is planning to return home in mid January. The ramp gives him access to his home. This project was completed December 29, 2018.
A Mercy case manager contacted us about building a ramp for one of her patients. The man had sustained spinal cord and brain injuries in an accident. He was scheduled to return home from hospitalization on May 16, and needed access to his home. On May 12 we were able to build two ramps (front and back of home).
